Senior Buyer

Position Description: 

The Senior Buyer bids, negotiates and expedites purchase orders and contracts for equipment and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Analyze supplier quotes for large volume orders to support parts sales and contract engineering

Plays a senior role in handling new suppliers and difficult situations

Ensure delivery requirements are met. Follow quality problems to resolution

Work closely with other Buyers and provide guidance as needed

Required Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain/Purchasing or related

Minimum 10 years of experience in a Buyer role

Required Skills: 

Understanding of manufacturing processes

Ability to decipher complex technical data and specifications

Able to read blueprints and engineering drawings

Computer skills including proficiency in Excel and Word, and ERP software

Ability to handle multiple assignments and requires excellent time management skills

Experience with valves is a plus
